  • donau festival Kino im kesselhaus Krems Austria (map)

Pleased to be part of a cool conversation with a noted scholar of popular music, at Donau Festival, a great music festival in Krems Austria.

“THEORY & TALK

Larisa Kingston Mann, also known as DJ Ripley, in her recently published book Rude Citizenship: Jamaican Popular Music, Copyright and the Reverberations of Colonial Power explores music production techniques such as dub that subvert Western notions of original and copy in favor of versioning. As a DJ, journalist, musician (Whirlpool Productions) and author (plus minus eight), Hans Nieswandt has been a longtime observer and co-creator of the electronic music scene. He currently lives and works in the capital of K-pop, Seoul.
